Selling Process Guide

1
Apply for Felling Permission
Submit application to DFO with all plantation records 6 months before intended harvest. DFO inspection follows. Receive Felling Permission Certificate.
2
Tree Inventory & Heartwood Testing
Use increment borer to test heartwood development. Create complete tree inventory with GPS coordinates and estimated yield. Submit with felling application.
3
Hire Licensed Contractor
Engage a licensed timber contractor (registered with Forest Dept) for harvesting. Do not harvest yourself if not trained — proper uprooting method is critical for root heartwood.
4
Grade and Weigh the Harvest
Separate heartwood from sapwood. Grade by color and fragrance. Get independent weighment certificate from government weighing facility if possible.
5
Obtain Transit Pass
Apply to Forest Range Officer for transit pass specifying quantity, destination depot, vehicle number. Carry all documents (felling permission, plantation records, ID) during transport.
6
Contact KFDC / APFDC / Licensed Depot
Contact your state corporation or licensed depot. Provide documentation. Schedule inspection and grading. Negotiate price (government rates are publicly available).
7
Complete Sale with Documentation
Get formal sale receipt, payment receipt, and Sale Certificate. Keep all documents for future reference and tax purposes. Payment via bank transfer for formal transactions.
